September 2005

It has been a busy summer.  Not much time to spend working on the website, but that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who has visited here before.  Things are gradually changing, however.  New backgrounds on most of the pages.  It was about time, I agree. The show and teaching schedules are completely up to date.  New gallery photos are in the works.  So I am trying to be better about keeping current.

So, exactly what have we been up to lately?

First, there was the wedding.  While we don't have any children, that doesn't mean that we don't have a daughter.  Harriet Dumba was one of Kathleen's students when she taught at Garfield High School in Seattle about ten years ago.  Harriet is from Sudan, but grew up in Uganda.  We have kept in touch with Harriet and she became as a daughter and we parents.  Last year she graduated from the University of Washington and is now in graduate school there in Public Health.  In July she married Dr. Alex Bolo, who is also Sudanese.  Alex and Harriet are friends from childhood when they grew up in neighboring villages. I am very proud of her and flattered that she asked me to be 'her dad' at the wedding.

Then, Willson and Ken arrived.  Born April 7, 2005, these little guys are from the same litter, but apparently do not share the same father.  They are the best of friends.  They have been running over us all night since late June.
